Hans rang from Everton Hills with a problem on his power. It was nearly 2.30pm on a pleasant Saturday afternoon, so I went along to help out.
We were there within twenty minutes and after some discussions about whether a third year apprentice electrician could find his fault and fix it, he relented and allowed us to go onto the property and locate the fault.
After a fairly thorough search of the house it was found that there was a short circuit on a single cable that was installed in a conduit out to the water tank which had a little pump on it. This was able to be isolated from the circuit and power was restored.
Hans was quite happy in the end about the whole ordeal. It must also be said that a third year apprentice still requires an “A” Grade licensed electricians overseeing of his work and is not able to contract on his own without a contractors license. This would also negate your insurances should anything go wrong in relation to the illegal works.
